Khim and Bret were my guardians when I was in boarding school. I spent my half terms during my teenage years with them and have so much to thank them for. I went on to attend the same medical school as Khim, partly because of her, and she kept a keen interest in my career, passing on her invaluable advice when needed. Her dedication to her patients was always an inspiration and I have no doubt that she must have done so much good for so many people. Her selfless, kind and caring nature , her Chicken Cacciatore, her delicious pears at Tavern House, her love of gardening and fantastic sense of humour spring to mind all at once when I think of her, but it is an image of her face smiling that remains strongest in memory.
